Who might be able to join this trial:

For Part 1 of the trial:

• People with a type of cystic fibrosis gene mutation that is eligible for treatment with a specific combination therapy called ETI
• Children aged 2 to 18 years (most participants are expected to be aged 2 to 6 years)
• Children who are already registered in the Norwegian Cystic Fibrosis Register and whose family has agreed to participation in the CF general research biobank

For Part 2 of the trial:

• Children aged 3 to 18 years
• Children who have either never taken a CFTR modulator medicine, or who have been taking one consistently for at least 6 months
• Children who are already registered in the Norwegian Cystic Fibrosis Register and whose family has agreed to participation in the CF general research biobank

Who may not be able to join:

For Part 1 of the trial:

• Children who started a different CFTR modulator medicine within the last 6 months
• Children who have used probiotic or prebiotic supplements within the last 2 months
• Children who are currently experiencing a lung flare-up (a worsening of lung symptoms)

For Part 2 of the trial:

• Children who started a CFTR modulator medicine within the last 6 months
• Children who have used probiotic or prebiotic supplements within the last 2 months
• Children who are currently experiencing a lung flare-up (a worsening of lung symptoms)
