Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have chronic kidney disease (CKD) at a moderate to severe stage (stages G3a to G4) and are being managed without dialysis
- People aged between 18 and 65 years old
- People who have been receiving dietary or nutritional monitoring for more than 6 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People who take medications that break down muscle or tissue (catabolic drugs)
- People who currently smoke
- People who are pregnant
- People who have taken antibiotics or stomach acid-reducing medications (proton pump inhibitors) in the last 3 months
- People who take antioxidant supplements or regularly consume beetroot or nitrate supplements
- People whose health is currently unstable, including those with unstable chest pain, irregular heart rhythms, a serious heart condition, a recent acute illness in the last month, or poorly controlled blood sugar levels
- People who are unable to exercise — for example, due to amputation without a prosthesis, muscle or joint pain at rest or with minimal movement, inability to sit or walk without help, use of a walking aid, or breathlessness at rest or with light activity
- People who have autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, cancer, liver disease, or AIDS
- People whose parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels are above 500 pg/mL (a specific hormone level measured by a blood test)
- People who are allergic or intolerant to any ingredients in the juice used in the trial
- People who may not be able to complete the full exercise program due to travel difficulties or problems getting to the research location
