Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 40 or older who have been diagnosed by a doctor with a chronic lung disease, and who are within 2 months of finishing a traditional in-person rehabilitation, physical therapy, or exercise program for that condition
- People who are able to walk on their own, with or without a walking aid such as a cane or walker
- People who were able to complete a six-minute walking test at the time of discharge from their rehabilitation program, with or without extra oxygen, while keeping their blood oxygen level at or above 85%
- People who can understand and follow spoken and written instructions in English
- People who have access to the internet at home or elsewhere
Who may not be able to join:
- People with significant movement or mobility problems, such as those with a history of stroke, Parkinson's disease, relapsing multiple sclerosis, severe joint disease (such as advanced osteoarthritis), or any other condition that seriously affects their ability to walk independently, even with a walking aid
- People who rely mainly on a wheelchair to get around
- People who were unable to complete a walking test at discharge from rehabilitation without their blood oxygen level dropping below 85%, even with extra oxygen
- People with serious heart conditions, including unstable chest pain, a heart attack within the past week, uncontrolled irregular heartbeat not managed by medication, advanced heart failure, or those using a mechanical heart-assist device such as a ventricular assist device (VAD)
- People who are not able to communicate in English
