Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing and able to provide written consent to participate.
- People who are 18 years of age or older.
- People who have been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (a type of cancer in the back of the nose and throat) confirmed by tissue testing, and who are currently receiving intensive radiation therapy or a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
- People who have complete and ongoing records of mouth and throat mucositis (soreness and inflammation) grading, as well as their own reported pain when swallowing.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have poor oral hygiene, untreated dental or gum disease, or metal dental restorations (such as certain fillings or crowns).
- People who have unstable heart conditions currently requiring treatment, or diabetes that is not well controlled.
- People whose body weight is considered too low relative to their height, specifically a Body Mass Index (BMI) below 18.5 (confirm with trial site).
- People who the trial researchers determine are otherwise not suitable to participate, based on their assessment.
