Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults between 18 and 80 years old, of any sex
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of thyroid cancer called papillary thyroid carcinoma, confirmed by a biopsy procedure
- People whose thyroid tumour measures 2.0 cm or smaller at its widest point
- People whose scans (ultrasound, neck and chest CT) show no signs that the cancer has spread beyond the thyroid, to nearby lymph nodes, or to other parts of the body
- People who are able to attend follow-up appointments for at least 12 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose biopsy results show a more aggressive form of papillary thyroid carcinoma, or a different type of thyroid cancer
- People who have previously had radiation treatment to the neck area
- People who have previously had surgery on the thyroid
- People who have a condition that affects blood clotting
- People with serious heart, breathing, liver, or kidney problems
- People who have reduced or absent movement of the vocal cord on the opposite side of the neck from the tumour (confirm with trial site)
