Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been recently diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer (a type of cancer at the back of the nose/throat), confirmed by a tissue biopsy, and have not yet received any treatment for it
- Your cancer has not spread to other parts of the body (classified as stage I to IVA)
- You are 18 years of age or older at the time of diagnosis
- You are generally able to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirm with trial site)
- You are receiving standard curative treatment, which includes radiation therapy with or without up to three cycles of chemotherapy (using specific drug combinations)
- A specific virus-related marker in your blood (called EBV DNA) was detectable before treatment and after the first round of chemotherapy, and will be monitored throughout treatment for risk assessment
- Your blood counts, liver function, and kidney function are all within acceptable healthy ranges (confirm with trial site for specific values)
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you agree to use reliable contraception from the start of the study until one year after treatment ends
- You are willing and able to attend all required visits, tests, and follow-ups as set out by the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have received or are receiving surgery, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy at any point before or during the initial chemotherapy phase
- You have had or currently have another type of cancer, with the exception of certain treated skin cancers, early-stage cervical cancer, or a specific type of thyroid cancer
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding (a pregnancy test may be required if applicable)
- You have previously received radical radiation therapy, except for certain treated skin cancers outside the planned treatment area
- You have a serious, uncontrolled heart condition, such as significant heart failure, unstable chest pain, a heart attack within the past year, or certain heart rhythm problems requiring treatment
