Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older at the time of signing the consent form.
  • A doctor at a UCI-affiliated clinic suspects you may have muscle-invasive bladder cancer based on what they saw during a routine camera examination of your bladder (cystoscopy).
  • You are generally able to carry out some daily activities, even if limited — your overall health and activity level falls within an acceptable range as assessed by the study team (ECOG score 0–3).
  • You are able to understand the study information and are willing to sign a consent form before the study begins.
  • You are willing and able to attend all required visits, scans, follow-up appointments, and other study-related activities as agreed with the study team.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had a surgical procedure to remove bladder tumor tissue (TURBT) within the last 120 days.
  • You have received any treatment for bladder cancer within the last 180 days.
  • You are unable to have a specialised type of MRI scan (mpMRI) or cannot tolerate the dye used during the scan.
  • You are unable to have the bladder tumor removal procedure (TURBT) or cannot tolerate the anaesthesia used during it.
  • Your overall health and activity level is very severely limited (ECOG score of 4).
  • You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

Incidence of concordance between VI-RADS score of 4 or 5 (i.e. muscular propria is likely or very likely) on mpMRI and pathologic muscularis propria invasion (i.e. pT2 tumor stage) on diagnostic TURBT.
