Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been formally diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder) or BDD (Body Dysmorphic Disorder) as your main mental health condition, based on standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You are able to read and write in Dutch
  • Your OCD symptoms score at or above a certain level of severity on a standard assessment scale called the Y-BOCS (confirm with trial site for exact score details)
  • Your medication has not changed recently, and you have been on a stable dose for at least 6 weeks before joining the study

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are currently experiencing a manic or hypomanic episode (an unusually high or overactive mood state)
  • You currently have active plans to end your life
  • You are currently experiencing psychosis, such as losing touch with reality (not including unusual beliefs directly related to OCD or BDD)
  • You have been diagnosed with alcohol or drug misuse or addiction according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5)
  • You have had electroconvulsive therapy (ECT, sometimes called "shock therapy") within the last 6 months
  • You have a neurological condition (a disorder affecting the brain or nervous system), or your IQ has been assessed as below 80
