Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 or older
- People whose cancer has been confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy) as one of these types of cervical cancer: squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, or adenosquamous carcinoma
- People whose cervical cancer has been confirmed as locally advanced (meaning it has grown beyond the cervix but has not spread to distant parts of the body) based on physical examination and scans
- People who are currently receiving radiation therapy, either alone or combined with chemotherapy
- People who are alert, able to communicate clearly, and able to answer questions
- People who have been identified as malnourished based on a specific assessment tool called the GLIM criteria
Who may not be able to join:
- People who received chemotherapy or immunotherapy before starting their current treatment
- People who have, or have previously had, another type of cancer
- People whose cervical cancer is a less common type, such as small cell carcinoma or neuroendocrine tumour of the cervix
- People whose cancer has been classified as stage IVb under the 2018 International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) staging system, meaning the cancer has spread to distant organs
- People with serious ongoing health conditions, such as significant heart failure, severe liver problems, or severely reduced kidney function (confirm with trial site for specific thresholds)
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities falls below a certain level, as measured by a standard medical scoring tool called the ECOG performance status scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who have any other medical reason that would make radiation therapy or combined chemotherapy and radiation therapy unsafe for them
