Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme (a type of brain tumour), confirmed by a tissue biopsy.
- Your brain tumour has shown signs of growing again on an MRI scan, after you have already been treated with the standard treatment combining radiotherapy and a chemotherapy drug called Temozolomide (known as the Stupp protocol).
- You finished your previous radiotherapy and Temozolomide treatment at least 4 weeks ago.
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are able to carry out most daily activities and care for yourself, as measured by a standard health scoring scale (Karnofsky score between 60–100%).
- Your blood counts are within acceptable levels — including enough platelets, red blood cells, and white blood cells (confirm with trial site for exact values).
- Your bone marrow is functioning normally.
- Your liver is functioning normally, with blood test results for liver enzymes and bilirubin within acceptable ranges.
- Your kidneys are functioning normally, with kidney-related blood test results within acceptable ranges.
- Your heart tracing (ECG) is normal.
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
- You are either not able to have children, or you have been using a reliable method of contraception for at least 2 months before joining the trial.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a serious psychiatric or medical condition that could interfere with receiving treatment or participating in the study.
- You have an active autoimmune disease (a condition where your immune system attacks your own body).
- You have had a significant heart condition within the last 5 years, or your heart pumping function is below a certain level on an ultrasound scan (confirm with trial site).
- You have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years — except for certain fully treated skin cancers or a very early-stage cervical condition.
- You are pregnant (confirmed by a positive pregnancy blood test) or are currently breastfeeding.
- You have an active infection that is not under control.
