Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 14 years old up to (but not including) 75 years old
- People who have been newly diagnosed with a specific type of leukemia called ETP-ALL (including a closely related form called near-ETP ALL)
- People who are reasonably physically active and able to carry out daily activities, based on a standard health scoring system (scores 0–2 out of 4)
- People whose doctors expect them to live at least 3 months or more
- People who are able to take the study medication venetoclax by mouth
- People whose organs (such as heart, liver, and kidneys) are functioning well enough not to interfere with treatment
- People who understand the study and agree to take part by signing a consent form
- People who are willing to use effective birth control during treatment and for at least 12 months after the last dose of the study drug (this applies to men, women who could become pregnant, and their partners)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are unable to swallow or take venetoclax by mouth
- People with serious heart, lung, liver, kidney, or other organ problems that could affect participation
- People with an active or uncontrolled infection (such as viral, bacterial, or fungal)
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past 5 years (exceptions may apply for certain thyroid cancers and early-stage skin cancers — confirm with trial site)
- People whose blood test results show certain liver, kidney, or heart measurements outside acceptable ranges (confirm specific values with trial site)
- People known to be living with HIV
- People known to have leukemia that has spread to the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord)
- People with digestive or stomach conditions that a doctor believes would affect how the body absorbs venetoclax
- People who are unable to understand or follow the study requirements
