Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been formally diagnosed with a neuromuscular disease (such as muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy, ALS, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, or a similar condition affecting the muscles or nerves), confirmed through genetic testing, a muscle biopsy, or nerve/muscle tests, and your arms are notably weak as a result.
• You are older than 10 years of age.
• Your upper arm and hand function falls within a specific middle range on a standard medical rating scale called the Brooke Upper Extremity Functional Rating Scale, scoring between 2 and 5 (confirm with trial site).
• You have significant weakness in your shoulder, specifically scoring below a certain level on a standard muscle strength test called the Manual Muscle Test (confirm with trial site).
• You (or your legal guardian or representative) are able and willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part in the study.

Who may not be able to join:

• You are unwilling or unable to give your consent (or have someone give it on your behalf) to take part.
• Your score on the Brooke Upper Extremity Functional Rating Scale is at either extreme — a 1 or a 6 (confirm with trial site).
• You have significant memory or thinking difficulties that would stop you from being able to use a shoulder support device properly.
• You have any other health condition that the trial doctor believes would make it unsafe or unsuitable for you to take part.
