Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with muscle-invasive bladder cancer (a type of bladder cancer that has grown into the muscle wall) with a specific tissue type, at a stage where it has not spread to distant parts of the body, confirmed by a bladder surgery procedure and body scans.
- People who are willing and able to give written consent to take part and are able to follow the requirements of the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose pathology results show a widespread form of a specific cancer cell pattern throughout the bladder (confirm with trial site).
- People who have a blockage causing fluid build-up in both kidneys — if only one kidney is affected, this may still be acceptable.
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the pelvic area.
- People who have previously received systemic (whole-body) treatment, such as chemotherapy, for their muscle-invasive bladder cancer.
- People who currently have another active cancer — however, a past cancer diagnosis from more than 5 years ago may be acceptable if there is no current sign of that cancer.
