Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 12 years old or older, male or female, right-handed, and of Han ethnicity
  • You have been diagnosed with depression according to standard diagnostic guidelines (DSM-5), with depression scores above a certain level and mood/mania scores below a certain level (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have had certain physical treatments such as electroconvulsive therapy (MECT) or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in the past six months
  • You have a vagus nerve stimulation implant (a device placed in the body to send signals to the brain) (confirm with trial site)
  • You have any electronic or metal devices implanted in your body, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, stent, or metal bone plates, or you have had a specific type of brain shunt surgery
  • You have significant vision or hearing problems that would prevent you from completing the tests and assessments required by the study
