Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are able to show that you understand what the study involves, including its benefits and risks, and that you can leave at any time — or someone can give consent on your behalf.
- You have been diagnosed with, or show signs of, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia, based on a doctor's records or a clinical interview.
- Your score on a standard memory and thinking test (called the MoCA) falls within a specific range that suggests mild to moderate memory difficulties (scores may be adjusted slightly based on your background).
- You are still able to take care of your basic daily needs independently, as assessed through a short interview.
- You are able to use a smartphone, with any needed accommodations for physical or sensory challenges.
- You have someone in your life (a friend, family member, or carer) who sees you at least once a month and is willing to take part in the study with you.
A "co-participant" (your study partner) must also:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Agree to take part in the study.
- See you at least once a month.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a serious mental health condition, such as schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, that a clinician believes is the main cause of your memory problems.
- Your test results or medical records suggest you have moderate or severe dementia.
- You have language difficulties that would make it hard to complete the screening process.
- You have uncorrected hearing loss, vision loss, or physical difficulties that would interfere with the training involved in the study.
- You do not have a study partner who can participate alongside you.
- You do not consider yourself conversational in English (confirm with trial site, as this may change in future).
- Your study partner sees you less than once per month or does not consider themselves conversational in English.
