Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) confirmed by bone marrow testing, and whose AML has come back after receiving a stem cell transplant from a donor (with at least 5% blast cells — abnormal leukaemia cells — seen in the bone marrow)
- People aged 18 to 65 years old, of any gender
- People whose general physical health and ability to carry out daily activities is rated as reasonably good (scored 0–2 on a standard medical scale used in cancer care)
- People, or their close family member or legal guardian, who are able to sign a consent form before the study begins agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already had a second stem cell transplant
- People who have had another type of cancer in the past 3 years and received treatment for it — with the exception of certain low-risk skin cancers, early-stage cervical cell changes, or early-stage prostate cell changes
- People who have tested positive for HIV, active hepatitis B, active hepatitis C, or syphilis
- People living with a mental illness or other condition that would make it difficult to follow the study's treatment and monitoring requirements
- People who are pregnant, or who are unable to use appropriate contraception during treatment
- People with certain active heart conditions, including: a specific heart rhythm abnormality or an unusually long electrical interval in the heart; certain types of heart block; a history of serious irregular heartbeat requiring medication; moderate-to-severe heart failure; reduced pumping function of the heart; or a heart attack, unstable chest pain, or serious heart rhythm or lining problems within the 6 months before joining (confirm details with trial site)
- People whose donor stem cell transplant came from an unrelated donor
- People whom the trial doctor considers unsuitable for enrolment for any other reason
