Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 55 years old
- You have had a first episode of neurological symptoms (called a "clinically isolated syndrome") within the last 6 months
- Your brain or spinal cord MRI shows at least two areas of concern that may suggest MS, OR your spinal fluid tests show specific proteins called oligoclonal bands
- You are willing and able to sign a written consent form to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a condition that could affect the accuracy of eye-related scans, such as diabetes, glaucoma, a retinal disease, or a very strong glasses prescription (over 6 dioptres)
- You have previously had MS relapses (this would be your first-ever episode)
- You have had severe spinal cord inflammation affecting a long section of the spine (more than 3 vertebral segments)
- You have had inflammation of both optic nerves (both eyes) but without the expected MS-related changes on MRI
- You have a reason why you cannot have an MRI scan or receive a contrast dye injection called gadolinium (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are unable to give your own informed consent to participate

Primary endpoints
Optic nerve involvement defined by occurrence of a recent clinical episode of ON; Asymptomatic optic nerve involvement defined by MRI (detection of an optic nerve T2 hypersignal); Risk of a new clinical relapse will be assessed by the occurrence and time to onset of a second MS clinical relapse; Asymptomatic optic nerve involvement defined by OCT (GCIPL-IETD,3pm); Risk of a new clinical relapse will be assessed by the occurrence and time to onset of a CDMS
