Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have kidney cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, with no more than 5 spread sites and no more than 3 different organs affected.
  • You are between 20 and 80 years old.
  • Each area where the cancer has spread is no larger than 5 cm (about 2 inches) at its widest point.
  • Your original kidney tumor has already been surgically removed or surgery is planned.
  • Your cancer has been confirmed by a tissue test to be a specific type called "clear cell carcinoma."
  • You are generally well enough to carry out daily activities with little to no limitation (confirm with trial site).
  • Your blood counts and major organ function meet certain minimum levels, including white blood cells, infection-fighting cells, and platelets (confirm with trial site).
  • You fully understand what the study involves and are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.
  • You agree to use contraception from when you sign the consent form until at least 1 year after your last treatment.
  • If you are currently breastfeeding, you agree to stop breastfeeding for at least 5 months after your last treatment.
  • You have visible tumors that were not fully removed by surgery.

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your liver function blood test results are above certain levels, suggesting the liver may not be working well enough (confirm with trial site).
  • You are unable to stay still in the position needed for a specific type of radiation treatment to the kidney area.
  • You have previously had radiation therapy to the areas where your kidney cancer has spread.
  • Your cancer has spread to the brain, the lining of the abdomen, or the lining of the lungs.
  • You have been diagnosed with another solid tumour and received treatment for it within the last 2 years, or still have remaining signs of that cancer.
  • You do not wish to take part in the study.
  • You are currently pregnant.
