Who might be able to join this trial:

For parents:

  • Parents of a premature baby who is currently staying in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit) at one of two participating hospitals (OHSU or UCH)
  • The premature baby must have been in the NICU for at least 2 weeks at the time of joining
  • The baby must currently be alive
  • Parents must speak English or Spanish
  • Parents of any age may be considered

For hospital staff and stakeholders:

  • Staff members working at the NICU at one of the two participating hospitals, including social workers, mental health providers, nurses, doctors who specialise in newborn care, and hospital administrators

Who may not be able to join:

  • Parents whose premature baby has been in the NICU for less than 2 weeks
  • Parents who do not speak English or Spanish
  • People who are not parents of a currently hospitalised premature baby, or who are not one of the listed types of NICU staff
