Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose condition is a form of chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML) that has transformed into a lymphoid blast crisis, rather than a true acute lymphoblastic leukemia
  • People who have already received or are currently receiving treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (such as targeted therapy drugs or radiation), with the exception of certain approved pre-treatments
  • People who have had a heart attack in the past 12 months, or who have significant heart problems such as unstable chest pain, heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or uncontrolled irregular heartbeat

  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • People with signs that the leukemia has spread to the brain, spinal cord, or other areas outside the bone marrow
  • People with poorly controlled diabetes, based on a blood sugar control test result above a certain level — though people with well-managed diabetes may still be eligible
  • People with serious psychiatric conditions that, in the opinion of the medical team, may interfere with completing treatment
  • People whom the investigators consider unsuitable for the study for other medical reasons
