Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are an adult who has been newly diagnosed with locally advanced thyroid cancer, or whose thyroid cancer has come back or not gone away, including cancer that has spread to lymph nodes in the neck.
  • Your thyroid cancer is one of these types: papillary, follicular, medullary, poorly differentiated, or anaplastic thyroid carcinoma.
  • Your cancer has grown beyond the thyroid gland and/or spread into nearby structures, and your doctors believe surgery may not be able to remove all of it — this could include things like a paralysed vocal cord, cancer growing into the windpipe, food pipe, neck muscles, major blood vessels, or chest area.
  • You have at least one tumour that can be measured on a scan, according to standard criteria used in cancer trials.
  • You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself, even if you cannot do heavy physical work (confirm with trial site).
  • Your heart, kidneys, liver, bone marrow, and blood clotting are all working well enough, based on tests done within 28 days before joining the trial.
  • You are able to swallow tablets or pills.
  • You have signed a form confirming you understand and agree to take part.
  • Your doctors expect you to live for more than 2 months.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have a medical reason why you cannot take the targeted drugs being tested in this trial.
  • Your medical records or clinical information are incomplete.
  • You have serious problems with a major organ, a significant metabolic disease, or another condition that greatly affects your health and survival.
  • You currently have another type of active cancer that requires treatment.
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • There is no measurable tumour that can be targeted or tracked in the trial.
  • The research team decides for any other reason that joining the trial would not be appropriate for you (confirm with trial site).
