Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of head and neck cancer (squamous cell carcinoma), confirmed by a tissue sample test
- Your cancer tumour or affected lymph node is larger than 3cm
- You are generally well enough to carry out some daily activities (your doctor will assess this using a standard health scale)
- You are planned to have surgery or radiation therapy (with or without chemotherapy) with the aim of curing your cancer
- You are willing to have repeat MRI scans as part of the study
- You can understand spoken and written information about the study and are able to sign a consent form
- Your kidneys are working well enough (confirmed by a blood test)
- You are able to lie flat on your back comfortably for up to one hour

- Your doctor feels that other health conditions make it unsuitable for you to take part
- You have any reason why you cannot safely have repeated MRI scans
- You have had another solid tumour (non-blood cancer) that was treated within the last 5 years
- You are pregnant
- You have previously had an allergic reaction to gadolinium contrast dye (a substance used in MRI scans)
- You have a blood clotting problem that cannot be corrected or reversed
