Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have chronic kidney disease (CKD) with kidney function at or above a certain level (an eGFR of 15 ml/min/1.73m² or higher)

  • People who have injuries, infections, fractures, or known blood vessel disease in both arms that would make the study's arm-cuff procedure unsafe
  • People who have a history of bleeding disorders, widespread bleeding, or a low platelet count
  • People who have certain heart conditions, including atrial fibrillation, severe irregular heartbeats, a previous heart attack, or significant heart failure
  • People with very high blood pressure that has not been controlled despite taking medication (systolic blood pressure of 200 mmHg or higher)
  • People who have respiratory (breathing) failure, cancer, or certain autoimmune diseases
  • People who are pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of enrolment or at any point during the study
