Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 18 to 44 years old
  • People with endometriosis in multiple locations (on the surface of organs, deep tissue, and ovarian cysts called endometriomas), who are scheduled for surgery to treat severe pain, and who have stage III or IV endometriosis with fertility concerns
  • Healthy people aged 18 to 45 who are having surgery for tubal ligation (a procedure to prevent pregnancy)
  • Healthy people aged 18 to 45 who are having a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) for a benign reason that is not endometriosis or adenomyosis
  • People who are having their surgery during their menstrual period
  • People who have not used any hormonal treatments in the 2 months before joining the trial
  • People who have signed the trial's consent form agreeing to take part
  • People who are members of a Social Security scheme or equivalent health coverage

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with endometriosis who are being treated without surgery
  • People with endometriosis who are currently on hormonal treatment, or who have taken hormonal treatment within the 2 months before surgery
  • People who have adenomyosis only (a condition affecting the uterine wall), without endometriosis
  • Healthy people without endometriosis who are having a hysterectomy due to infection or cancer
  • People who are under a legal protection order, such as guardianship or court-supervised protection
  • People who test positive for HIV, HTLV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C
