Who might be able to join this trial:
As a Healthy Control participant:
- Adults aged between 18 and 65 years who do not have a headache disorder (occasional tension-type headache is acceptable)
As an Episodic Cluster Headache participant:
- Adults aged between 18 and 65 years of any gender who have been diagnosed with Episodic Cluster Headache (based on recognised diagnostic guidelines) for at least 1 year before entering the trial
As a Chronic Cluster Headache participant:
- Adults aged between 18 and 65 years of any gender who have been diagnosed with Chronic Cluster Headache (based on recognised diagnostic guidelines) for at least 1 year before entering the trial
Who may not be able to join:
Healthy Control participants may not be eligible if they:
- Have a diagnosis of any headache disorder (other than occasional tension-type headache)
- Have a diagnosed neurological condition
- Have any other medical condition that the researcher considers clinically significant
- Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have taken anti-inflammatory painkillers (NSAIDs), triptans, or opioid medications in the 24 hours before the study
Episodic or Chronic Cluster Headache participants may not be eligible if they:
- Have any additional headache diagnosis alongside their cluster headache (other than occasional tension-type headache)
- Have any other diagnosed neurological condition
- Have any other medical condition that the researcher considers clinically significant
- Have been diagnosed with any chronic pain condition of any kind
- Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- Use substances of abuse
