Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (B-ALL) and either have no suitable matched donor for a stem cell transplant, or have chosen not to have a stem cell transplant.
  • People whose cancer cells test positive for a protein called CD19, as confirmed by a blood or bone marrow test.
  • People whose heart, kidney, liver, and lung function all meet certain minimum health levels, as measured by standard tests (confirm with trial site for exact values).
  • People aged between 15 and 65 years old (inclusive), of any gender.
  • People whose T-cells (a type of immune cell) pass a required laboratory growth test.
  • People whose doctors expect them to live for more than 3 months.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose leukaemia has returned only in areas outside the bone marrow, or who have another type of cancer alongside their leukaemia.
  • People who have previously received any treatment that targets the CD19 protein.
  • People who have used immune-suppressing medications within the 2 weeks before signing the consent form, or who plan to use them after signing.
  • People who have an active infection that is not currently under control.
  • People who have HIV.
  • People who have an active hepatitis B or hepatitis C infection.
  • People who have had a serious allergic reaction to a class of antibiotics called aminoglycosides.
  • People who have a significant history of, or currently have, certain neurological or psychiatric conditions — such as epilepsy, stroke, dementia, Parkinson's disease, psychosis, or severe brain injury.
