Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of bladder cancer called "intermediate risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer," as defined by a major urology guideline from 2020
- You have had a surgical procedure to remove the bladder tumor (called TURBT, with or without chemotherapy given around the time of surgery) within the last 60 days before joining the trial
- Your bladder cancer fits one of these specific patterns: a low-grade cancer that came back within 1 year; a single low-grade tumor larger than 3 cm; multiple low-grade tumors; a single high-grade tumor that is 3 cm or smaller; or a low-grade cancer that has grown slightly into the tissue layer beneath the bladder lining
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer has grown into the deeper muscle wall of the bladder, or has spread to other parts of the body
- Your cancer is considered "high risk," which includes certain more aggressive or advanced types (confirm with trial site for full details)
- You have a very early-stage, low-risk cancer, such as a first-time small low-grade tumor, a low-grade tumor that came back more than 12 months after the last one, or a very slow-growing growth called a "papillary urothelial neoplasm of low malignant potential"
- Your cancer involves certain aggressive features such as cancer on the surface lining of the bladder (CIS), cancer in the urethra near the prostate, or an unusual cancer cell type (confirm with trial site)
- You have previously had a specific treatment called BCG that did not work, and your cancer was high-grade
