Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older, of any gender
- People who are willing to take part voluntarily and sign a consent form
- People who have been diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) through an abdominal ultrasound scan
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have active or ongoing infections, serious heart or brain conditions, respiratory disease, kidney disease, rheumatic disease, cancer, pituitary gland problems, or who have hepatitis B, hepatitis C, or HIV/AIDS
- People who have had surgery in the past 6 months, or who have donated blood, received a blood transfusion, or had significant blood loss in the past 4 months
- People who have taken any vitamin supplements within the past 2 weeks
- Women who are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or who have given birth within the past year
- People who drink alcohol heavily — specifically, men who drink 140 grams or more of alcohol per week, or women who drink 70 grams or more of alcohol per week (confirm with trial site if unsure how this applies to your situation)
- People whose kidney function blood test results (called serum creatinine) are significantly above the normal range for their age and gender (confirm with trial site for the exact values relevant to your situation)
