Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 or older, of any gender.
  • People who have been referred to a community mental health service or hospital in the Maule Region because of difficulties related to traumatic experiences, or who have symptoms or a diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD).
  • People who receive a diagnosis of PTSD or CPTSD through a specific assessment tool called the International Trauma Interview (ITI).
  • People who speak and read Spanish fluently.
  • People who have access to a telephone.
  • People who are not currently receiving treatment for PTSD or CPTSD at the time of joining.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been previously or currently diagnosed with a psychotic disorder.
  • People who currently have a substance use disorder (problems with alcohol or drugs).
  • People who are currently experiencing a suicidal crisis.
  • People whose main diagnosis is depression rather than PTSD or CPTSD.
  • People who are already taking part in another psychological treatment for PTSD at the same time as this study.
  • People who begin a new psychological or medication-based treatment for PTSD during the study, or who have a change in their existing medication dose, may need to leave the trial if they have already joined.
