Who might be able to join this trial:

• You are between 18 and 65 years old
• You live in or near London or Oxford and can stay in the area for the whole study period
• You are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
• You are happy for the research team to look at your NHS health records, medical history, blood test results, and X-rays
• You are able and willing to follow all the study requirements, in the opinion of the research team

For Groups A and B only:

• You have already been screened for TB through the NHS (including a blood test called an IGRA, and possibly a chest X-ray)
• You have had close contact with someone who has been confirmed as having infectious TB within the last 12 weeks

Who may not be able to join:

• You have taken part in another research study involving an experimental treatment in the last 30 days, or plan to during this trial
• You have a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) or an allergy that could be made worse by the study procedures
• You have poorly controlled asthma or another breathing condition, an active cancer (other than certain minor skin or cervical conditions), a bleeding disorder, or issues with drug or alcohol use
• You have a significant condition affecting your immune system, such as an autoimmune disease or HIV
• You have previously been diagnosed with or treated for TB disease or latent (inactive) TB infection
• There is any current sign — from symptoms, scans, or blood tests — that you may have active TB disease right now
• You have previously received any experimental TB vaccine or an inhaled (aerosolised) BCG vaccine
• You have an abnormal result on a breathing test called spirometry (confirm with trial site)
• You are currently using steroid medication taken by mouth, inhaled, or injected into the body, or have used them for more than 14 days in the past 6 months (steroid creams or ointments are generally acceptable), or you are using other medicines that suppress the immune system
• You have taken antibiotics in the past 4 weeks
• You have received immunoglobulins or any blood products in the past 3 months
• You have received a live vaccine in the past 28 days
• You have received any other (non-live) vaccine in the past 14 days
• You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study
• You have any other condition or health concern that the research team believes could put you at risk, affect your participation, or affect the study results

For Group C only:

• You have previously had close contact with a TB case, or have previously been contacted by TB services for contact tracing
