Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form to take part in the study
- You are male or female and aged 18 or older when you first started taking belimumab
- You were prescribed belimumab (either as an injection under the skin or through a drip) to treat active lupus nephritis (lupus affecting the kidneys), alongside other standard treatments
- You started taking belimumab between 6 and 24 months before joining this study
- Your medical records from at least 12 months before you started belimumab are available to the research team
- You have a confirmed diagnosis of lupus nephritis, proven by a kidney biopsy taken at any point before you started belimumab, and your diagnosis falls into one of these types: Class III (focal lupus nephritis, with or without Class V), Class IV (diffuse lupus nephritis, with or without Class V), or Class V (membranous lupus nephritis)
Who may not be able to join:
- You were receiving kidney replacement treatment — such as dialysis or a kidney transplant — or had end-stage kidney disease when you started belimumab
- You were taking another targeted lupus antibody treatment (monoclonal antibody), or a similar medication that affects the immune system, at the same time as starting belimumab
- You were participating in a clinical trial (that involves a treatment or intervention) during the period the study is looking at
- You were pregnant when you first started taking belimumab
- You had already received a kidney transplant when you started belimumab
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant at the time of joining this study
