Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 to 80 years old (inclusive) at the time of signing the consent form, of any gender
- People with a confirmed diagnosis of extensive stage small cell lung cancer, confirmed through tissue or cell testing
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on a scan, with the longest measurement being 10mm or more
- People with a functional ability score of 0 or 1 on a standard medical scale (meaning generally able to carry out daily activities, with little to no restriction) within 3 days before starting treatment
- People who have not previously received any cancer treatment for extensive stage disease — though people who had chemotherapy or radiation for an earlier, less advanced stage of the cancer may still be eligible, provided that treatment was intended to cure the disease and ended at least 6 months before the current extensive stage diagnosis
- People with an expected survival of at least 3 months
- People whose heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, and other vital organs are functioning adequately
- People who are willing to participate, sign a consent form, and attend follow-up appointments as required
Who may not be able to join:
- People with serious ongoing lung conditions such as pulmonary fibrosis
- People with psychiatric disorders, blood diseases, autoimmune diseases, or serious pre-existing conditions affecting the heart, brain, liver, or kidneys
- People with active infections that are not under control
- People with known or suspected allergies to the study drug or any of its ingredients
- People who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or women who could become pregnant and have a positive pregnancy test at the start of the study
- People who have previously received cancer treatment that targeted the PD-(L)1 pathway (a type of immunotherapy)
