Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- You had surgery under general anesthesia to remove lung cancer, which may have included removal of nearby lymph nodes
- Your removed tissue was confirmed by laboratory testing to be primary lung cancer
- You have had a persistent dry cough for 2 weeks or longer following your lung surgery
- You are fully conscious, able to clearly communicate, and willing to sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- You were diagnosed with an acute (sudden) respiratory illness within the past month
- A chest X-ray has shown you have pneumonia
- You have a history of asthma or tuberculosis
- You have uncontrolled overactive thyroid, severe high blood pressure, heart disease, a widespread infection, a blood clotting disorder, or another serious long-term illness
- You have taken steroid medications at any point in the past 3 months
- You have taken a type of blood pressure medication called ACE inhibitors (such as lisinopril or ramipril) within the past 6 months
- You have surgical wounds, skin allergies, open wounds, or skin infections in the area where treatment would be applied
- You are unable to tolerate mild electrical stimulation applied to the skin, or you stopped tolerating it during treatment (confirm with trial site)
- You have a medical reason why electrical stimulation cannot be used on you, or you have an implanted electrical device such as a pacemaker (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
