Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years old or older.
- You must have been diagnosed with a specific type of kidney cancer called "predominantly clear cell carcinoma," confirmed by a tissue test.
- A sample of your tumor tissue (from the original tumor or a site where cancer has spread) must be available for genetic testing, and it must have been collected within the last 5 years.
- Your cancer must be measurable using standard imaging scans, following a specific set of measurement rules called RECIST 1.1.
- You must have been treated with a drug called cabozantinib after having at least one previous treatment for advanced kidney cancer.
- Your cancer must have either gotten worse within 3 months of starting cabozantinib, or it must have taken longer than 9 months to get worse after starting cabozantinib.
- You can be from any risk group based on a kidney cancer scoring system called the IMDC risk score.
- If you are living, you must sign a consent form agreeing to take part; patients who have passed away or cannot be contacted may still be included under specific Italian data protection rules.
Who may not be able to join:
- You may not be eligible if no tumor tissue sample is available from your original tumor or from a site where the cancer has spread.
- You may not be eligible if your cancer got worse between 3 and 9 months after starting cabozantinib treatment.
- You may not be eligible if there is not enough medical information available to determine your IMDC risk group at the time treatment began (confirm with trial site).
