Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are generally healthy and attending regular check-ups or outpatient visits for preventive health screening
- People who have been diagnosed with low bone density (osteopenia) and have had a bone density scan (DXA) done
- People who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis (with or without a previous bone fracture) and have had a bone density scan, or for those who have had a fracture, a bone density scan has been prescribed as part of their regular care
- People aged 40 years or older, of any sex
- People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 29.9, which is generally considered a normal to slightly overweight range
Who may not be able to join:
- People with blood system disorders, such as certain types of anaemia (including haemolytic, aplastic, or blood cancer-related anaemia)
- People with bleeding or clotting disorders, whether inherited or caused by another condition
- People with active infections, or those who have tested positive for HIV, hepatitis B (HBV), or hepatitis C (HCV)
- People who have or have had cancer, including primary tumours or cancer that has spread from elsewhere in the body
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
- People who currently drink or have previously drunk more than 20 grams of alcohol per day (roughly 1.5 to 2 standard drinks)
- People who currently smoke or have previously smoked more than 10 cigarettes per day
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes
- People currently taking medications that may affect blood cell production, such as corticosteroids, immunosuppressive drugs, or chemotherapy agents
