Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 8 and 25 years old at the start of the study
- You have been diagnosed with Sickle Cell Disease (including types HbSS, HbSC, HbS-Beta Thalassemia, or a related blood disorder)
- You currently receive your medical care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute / Boston Children's Hospital (DFCI/BCH) Blood Disorders Center
- You have scored above 9 on a standard questionnaire used to measure depression (PHQ-9) or anxiety (GAD), meaning you are experiencing noticeable symptoms of depression or anxiety
- You can speak English or Spanish (required for taking part in the PRISM therapy sessions)
- You can read English or Spanish (required for filling out study surveys and questionnaires)
- You are considered by the study doctor to be able to take part in the therapy sessions and complete written questionnaires
- You are willing and able to attend all required study visits and follow the study's guidelines
Who may not be able to join:
- Anyone who does not meet all of the requirements listed above
