Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are able to understand the study and are willing to sign a written consent form
- People who are at least 18 years old
- People who have been confirmed through a tissue or cell sample to have a type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that is at an advanced or spreading stage (stage IIIB to IV)
- People whose lung cancer has not been treated before, and whose cancer has specific genetic changes (in a gene called EGFR, specifically "exon 19 deletion" or "L858R") and high levels of a protein called MET (confirmed by a lab test showing a result of "IHC 3+") (confirm with trial site)
- People who have at least one area of cancer that can be measured on a scan, according to standard measurement guidelines
- People who are generally well enough to carry out light activity and care for themselves, based on a standard medical fitness scale (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has certain other genetic changes, specifically in genes called ALK or ROS1
- People who have cancer that has spread to the brain or nervous system and is causing symptoms that are not well controlled, or that requires increasing doses of steroid medications to manage
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding
