Who might be able to join this trial:

Recovered Volunteers group (people who have recovered fully from COVID-19):

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are able to give your informed consent to participate
• You have already completed Phase B of a related study called Protocol 000089
• A doctor confirmed you were in good general health before you got COVID-19
• You reported that you fully recovered to your previous level of health after having COVID-19
• You had a confirmed positive COVID-19 test (such as a PCR test) during your infection
• Your COVID-19 illness ranged from being able to look after yourself at home to needing oxygen in hospital (confirm with trial site)
• You score highly on a health questionnaire showing your physical, daily functioning, and social abilities are close to normal (confirm with trial site)
• A special review committee from the previous study confirmed you are a healthy recovered person
• You do not currently have an active COVID-19 infection

Neurological Long COVID group (people with ongoing neurological symptoms after COVID-19):

• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are able to give your informed consent to participate
• You have already completed Phase B of a related study called Protocol 000089
• A doctor confirmed you were in good general health before you got COVID-19
• You reported developing lasting symptoms after COVID-19, such as fatigue, brain fog, dizziness when standing, poor sleep, nerve pain, mood changes, or worsening symptoms after activity
• You had a confirmed positive COVID-19 test (such as a PCR test) during your infection
• Your COVID-19 illness ranged from being able to look after yourself at home to needing oxygen in hospital (confirm with trial site)
• You score lower on a health questionnaire, showing that your physical ability, daily functioning, or social life has been significantly affected (confirm with trial site)
• A special review committee from the previous study confirmed you have Long COVID (Post-Acute Sequelae of COVID-19)
• Your main ongoing complaints are neurological, such as nerve sensations, memory or thinking problems, dizziness when standing up, or movement difficulties
• You do not currently have an active COVID-19 infection

Who may not be able to join:

• You are currently having thoughts of suicide
• You are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have given birth within the last year
• You currently have or have previously had cancer (though certain cases where cancer was fully removed by surgery alone may be allowed — confirm with trial site)
• You currently have a condition where your immune system attacks your own body, such as Type 1 diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis (some milder immune-related conditions may be allowed — confirm with trial site)
• You are currently using or have previously used medications that suppress your immune system long-term, or you have used steroid tablets or injections within the past month
• You take blood-thinning or anti-clotting medications on a long-term basis
• You are currently in another clinical study that involves a treatment that could affect this study's results
• You are not willing to allow your research data and samples to be shared with other researchers
• You are an employee of the NIH (National Institutes of Health)
• Your symptoms are so severe that travelling to the NIH for an extended stay is not possible
• You regularly use certain medications that carry a high risk of serious withdrawal effects, such as long-acting opioids or benzodiazepines
• You are unwilling to also join a related NIH genetic sequencing study (Protocol 17-I-0122)
