• The parent or guardian is willing and able to follow the rules of the study throughout

Who may not be able to join:

• The child is currently taking strong medicines that suppress the immune system, or biologic treatments (injections or infusions that target specific parts of the immune system)
• The mother is breastfeeding, currently taking probiotic supplements, and is not willing to stop them during the study
• The child is already taking probiotics (including baby formulas containing probiotics) and the parents are not willing to stop them for the full study period, including a 4-week preparation period beforehand
• The child currently has an active skin infection such as impetigo, cellulitis, or a type of herpes infection on the skin — though they may be considered once the infection has cleared
• The child is currently taking antibiotic tablets or IV antibiotics — though they may be able to join after finishing antibiotics and waiting 4 weeks
• The child has a condition that weakens the immune system
• The child has a long-term condition affecting the digestive system, such as inflammatory bowel disease, short gut syndrome, or cystic fibrosis
• The child has a known allergy to any ingredients in the product being studied
