Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have voluntarily agreed to participate and signed a consent form.
- People aged 18 to 65 years old, of any gender.
- People who had surgery to fully remove a high-grade brain tumour, followed by standard radiation or chemotherapy, with no signs of the tumour returning within two months of finishing radiation — but who have since had the tumour come back. The returning tumour must be one of these types: glioblastoma, anaplastic astrocytoma, anaplastic oligodendroglioma, anaplastic oligodendro-astrocytoma, or a specific type of brainstem astrocytoma.
- People whose tumour has not returned at the original site but has appeared in a different area of the brain.
- People whose brain scans (PET/MRS) suggest tumour recurrence, with the returning tumour measuring between 1 cm and 3 cm in diameter.
- People with a performance score (a measure of general health and ability to carry out daily activities) of 70 or above before treatment begins.
- People with healthy blood counts and normal liver, kidney, and heart function, meeting specific laboratory values as assessed by the trial site.
- Women of childbearing age who have had a negative pregnancy test within 7 days before the trial starts, and all participants of childbearing potential who agree to use effective contraception during the study and for 3 months after treatment ends.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who have brain inflammation conditions such as encephalitis, multiple sclerosis, or other infections of the central nervous system.
- People who have had an organ transplant or are currently waiting for one.
- People with uncontrolled infectious diseases, including those who are HIV positive, or other serious illnesses.
- People with unstable ongoing health conditions, such as active infection, uncontrolled high blood pressure, recent or unstable chest pain, heart failure, a heart attack within the past 12 months, serious irregular heartbeat requiring medication, or liver or kidney failure.
- People with autoimmune diseases or immune system deficiency conditions.
- People with a history of severe allergic reactions.
- People with chronic conditions that require long-term use of immune-modifying medications or steroid treatments such as corticosteroids.
- People with mental health disorders.
