Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older.
- People who have a primary diagnosis of substance use disorder involving alcohol, cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine, benzodiazepines, or opioids (as defined by DSM-5 criteria), and who are currently receiving or about to start outpatient Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) treatment.
- People who have a DSM-5 diagnosis of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder), or a DSM-5 diagnosis of PTSD together with an additional ICD-11 diagnosis of Complex PTSD (CPTSD).
- People who are planned to begin EMDR therapy (a type of trauma-focused therapy) within 8 weeks.
- People who have a good level of proficiency in the Dutch language, as assessed by clinical staff.
- People who are able and willing to provide written informed consent to participate.
Who may not be able to join:
