Who might be able to join this trial:

• You must be 18 years of age or older
• You must have been diagnosed with a type of tuberculosis (TB) that does not respond to the antibiotic rifampicin, confirmed by a lab test
• You must have started a TB treatment plan that includes the medication linezolid no more than 14 days before joining the trial
• Your HIV status must be known — both people who are HIV-positive and HIV-negative are welcome to join
• If your HIV status is unknown, you must agree to take an HIV test at the time of enrollment to be eligible

Who may not be able to join:

• You may not be able to join if you have a serious medical condition where doctors expect you may not survive the next 7 days
• You may not be able to join if you are pregnant at the time of screening
• You may not be able to join if your starting dose of linezolid is less than 600mg per day
• You may not be able to join if you have a severe form of TB that has spread outside the lungs to areas such as the brain lining, the heart lining, or the bones
• You may not be able to join if it is unlikely that you would be able to attend follow-up appointments at Nkqubela Hospital based on where you live
