Who may be able to join

AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have a single spot on their lung (called a pulmonary nodule) that is 3 centimetres or smaller, and which has been confirmed during the procedure to be lung cancer or cancer that has spread from another part of the body, with no sign of cancer in the chest lymph nodes
  • People whose lung nodule is located in the outer two-thirds of the lung, at least 10mm away from the lung lining, major blood vessels, and central chest structures
  • People whose doctors, after reviewing scans and discussing their case as a team, have determined that surgery to remove the nodule is a suitable treatment option, and whose lung function testing suggests the lungs would work well enough after surgery
  • People aged 18 years or older

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose nodule is located in or near the central area of the chest, which includes the airways, major blood vessels, heart, food pipe, spinal cord, or certain nerves — or whose nodule is less than 10mm from the lung lining
  • People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 6 months
  • People found to have a growth inside the airways that appears suspicious for cancer, seen during the initial camera examination of the airways
  • People with a blood clotting problem that cannot be corrected with treatment, including a low platelet count or an abnormal clotting test result (confirm with trial site for specific values)
  • People with a known condition of high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension), specifically with a pulmonary artery pressure reading above a certain level (confirm with trial site for specific values)
  • People who are currently taking blood thinners, clopidogrel, or other medicines that affect how platelets work
  • People whose other health conditions make surgery considered too high a risk
  • People who are pregnant
  • People who are not able to give their own informed consent to participate
