AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older and are having surgery to remove your bladder (called a radical cystectomy) along with the creation of an ileal conduit (a way of redirecting urine using a small piece of bowel, which drains into a bag on the outside of the body) for bladder cancer
  • You are able and willing to give written consent to take part in the trial

Who may not be able to join:

  • Your surgery is not intended to cure the cancer, for example if the cancer has spread too far, or the operation is being done as a backup or purely to manage symptoms
  • You are having a different type of urinary diversion surgery, such as one that creates an internal pouch to store urine (confirm with trial site)
  • You have previously had radiotherapy to your abdomen or pelvis
  • You also have cancer in the upper parts of your urinary system, such as the kidneys or the tubes that connect the kidneys to the bladder

Important: Always verify eligibility with the trial site directly before applying.
