Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 years or older
- People whose medications for TBI (traumatic brain injury) and/or PTSD have been at a stable dose for more than 2 weeks
- People with TBI-related headaches (with or without PTSD) who score 53 or higher on a headache impact questionnaire called the HIT-6, OR people with PTSD (with or without TBI-related headaches) who score 33 or higher on a PTSD symptom questionnaire called the PCL-5 — or, for those with both TBI and PTSD, people with a HIT-6 score of 50–52 and a PCL-5 score of 31 or 32 (confirm with trial site)
- People whose TBI or PTSD has been ongoing for more than 3 months
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have received a ketamine infusion or a stellate ganglion block (a type of nerve injection) within the past 6 months
- People with serious medical or psychiatric conditions beyond TBI or PTSD that could affect thinking or memory, such as dementia or Parkinson's disease
- People with increased pressure inside the skull
- People with TBI where their headaches appear to be caused by something other than the TBI itself
- People with active psychosis or a poorly controlled psychiatric condition unrelated to their injury or PTSD, such as bipolar disorder
- People with poorly controlled medical conditions that could be made worse by the treatment, such as unstable heart problems
- People who are pregnant — women of childbearing age will be asked to take a pregnancy test
- People who are not fluent in English
