Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 16 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with a psychotic disorder (such as schizophrenia or a related condition) confirmed through a structured clinical interview
- People who have experienced a traumatic event that happened more than 1 month before the assessment
- People who are currently distressed by their trauma experience, rated at 5 or higher on a scale of 0 to 10 on a standard checklist
- People who are willing and able to take part in therapy focused on trauma
- People who are able to understand the study information and provide informed consent for both the psychological treatment and the study procedures
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose main diagnosis is substance use disorder or alcohol dependence
- People who are unable to understand spoken Norwegian
- People who have a psychotic condition caused by a physical brain condition or neurological disorder
- People who are currently in an acute (severe) state of psychosis, which includes those who have been in an acute hospital ward in the last 6 weeks, those who have recently started, stopped, or significantly changed their antipsychotic medication in the last 6 weeks, or those who have experienced another serious mental health crisis in the last 6 weeks
- People who are currently receiving, or have received in the past 6 months, therapy specifically focused on trauma
