Who might be able to join this trial:
This trial has three groups. You may fit into one of them:
Group A (Comparison group – people without COVID-19 history):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have never had COVID-19
Group B (People who had COVID-19 with no organ problems):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You had COVID-19 at some point since the pandemic began, up to six months ago (whether or not you were hospitalised)
- You do not currently have any obvious problems with your organs (such as lungs, kidneys, or heart)
- You did not show signs of organ problems during your COVID-19 illness
Group C (People who had COVID-19 with organ problems):
- You are 18 years old or older
- You had COVID-19 at some point since the pandemic began, up to six months ago (whether or not you were hospitalised)
- You showed signs of problems with your lungs, kidneys, or heart during your COVID-19 illness
Who may not be able to join:
For all groups:
- You have another existing health condition that is currently causing symptoms
- Your doctors feel your general health is too poor to participate (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
Additionally, for Group C only:
- You have severe chronic lung disease (stage III or IV COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, or pulmonary hypertension)
- You have advanced cancer (stage IV solid tumour) currently being treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy
- You have a condition called systemic sclerosis (a disease affecting connective tissue)
- You have heart failure
- You had significant breathing difficulties (classified as stage II, III, or IV by your doctors) before you got COVID-19
- Your doctors believe your overall health means you are unlikely to survive for at least six more months
