Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who have a newly found brain mass (a growth inside the brain tissue) that a specialist radiologist at Penn believes is consistent with glioblastoma (an aggressive type of brain tumour)
- People who have a confirmed past diagnosis of glioblastoma (proven by tissue or molecular testing) and whose brain scans now show a new or significantly increased area of activity (more than 25% increase), which may suggest the tumour has returned or grown
- People whose doctors have recommended surgery to remove the brain mass as part of their normal care
- People whose doctor believes they have a life expectancy of more than 3 months
- People with a Karnofsky performance score of 60 or above — this is a standard medical scale used by doctors to assess a person's general ability to carry out daily activities (confirm with trial site)
- People who are willing to be told about the investigational nature of the study and are able to sign a written consent form before any study-specific procedures begin
Who may not be able to join:
- People who, in their doctor's opinion, are unable to tolerate the imaging procedures involved in the study
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of screening — a urine pregnancy test will be carried out before the study injection for women who could potentially become pregnant
- People who have a current medical condition, illness, or disorder that a doctor believes could put them at risk or affect their ability to safely take part in the study
- People who have a medical reason that makes MRI scanning unsafe or unsuitable for them
- People who are unable to understand the study information or cannot give informed consent on their own
