Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults between 18 and 65 years old
  • People who have had a diagnosis of migraine (with or without aura) for at least 1 year, based on established international headache diagnostic guidelines
  • People with episodic migraine, meaning between 1 and fewer than 15 headache days per month, with at least 2 to 8 of those days having migraine features, for more than 3 months, and where the diagnosis was made before the age of 50
  • People who have previously used or are currently using triptan medications to treat migraine attacks
  • People who are able to speak and read Danish

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who currently have chronic migraine, or who have had chronic migraine at any point in the last 12 months
  • People who have other types of recurring headache conditions, apart from occasional tension-type headaches
  • People whose headaches are caused by another underlying condition, including headaches caused by overusing pain or migraine medications
  • People with severe psychiatric conditions, serious heart or blood vessel diseases, or severe liver disease
  • People who have used opioid or barbiturate medications in the month before the screening visit
  • People currently using certain prescription migraine prevention treatments, specifically botulinum toxin A injections or CGRP monoclonal antibody medications (note: stable use of some other migraine prevention medications, such as antidepressants, calcium channel blockers, beta blockers, or anti-epileptic drugs, may be permitted — confirm with trial site)
  • People who are unable to tolerate triptans or for whom triptans are medically unsuitable
  • People currently experiencing a substance use disorder
  • People who have a metal or electronic device implanted in their head
  • People who have a cardiac pacemaker, or an implanted or wearable defibrillator
  • People who have used illegal psychotropic drugs within one week before the study, or who have used cannabis within four weeks before the study
  • People who are currently pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or who are breastfeeding (pregnancy status is confirmed by a pregnancy test, and safe contraception as defined by the Danish Medicines Agency is required)
