Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) based on recognised international criteria, and you have tested positive for a specific protein marker called AQP4 antibodies.
- Your current symptoms started within the last 7 days, and you are experiencing severe pain, weakness in your legs, or problems with bladder or bowel control.
- You are between 18 and 65 years old (male or female).
- Before this current episode, your level of disability was relatively low, as measured by a standard disability scale used in this condition (confirm with trial site).
- If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test at the start of the trial and agree to use effective contraception throughout.

Who may not be able to join:

- You are currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the trial.

- You have taken part in another clinical trial in the last 3 months.

- You have severe psychiatric symptoms that would make it difficult to participate in the trial.

- In the last 12 weeks, you have had a heart attack, unstable heart disease, a stroke, or severe heart failure.
- You currently have an ongoing widespread infection or a serious localised infection.
- You are unable to have MRI scans during the trial.
- The trial doctor considers you unsuitable for participation for any other reason.
